Arthritis Treatments Australia was born in 2007 out of Dr John Stewart’s long career as a veterinary surgeon where he saw, on a regular basis, the debilitating effects of arthritis on dogs, horses and cats.  Many of these animals were otherwise fit and well. Given that exercise is a necessary part of a healthy lifestyle for any animal, whether a sporting partner or a companion pet, the challenge was to work out how to best support these animals to remain active and achieve a high quality of life.

With experience in both academic research and veterinary practice, Dr.  John Stewart, BVSc Hons MRCVS CMAVA was able to investigate the supplements available in the then-burgeoning joint support industry.  He also methodically combed the academic literature to identify the arthritis supplements supported by scientific research and their dosage and success rates. Very importantly, he also considered their side effects and their interactions with other nutrients, both supportive and contraindicated. The result of his investigation and mission to support healthy joints in dogs, horses and cats – and consequently happy owners – is Joint Rejuvenate.

Equally involved in the founding and management of Arthritis Treatments Australia is co-owner and general manager Sue Stewart.

Sue holds four qualifications: a Bachelor of Business in Agriculture (Curtin University); an Associate Diploma in Horse Management (Muresk Agricultural College) and a Certificate Level 4 in Training and Assessment. Sue is also an NCAS Level 2 Equestrian Coach. These qualifications are complemented by 30 plus years of experience with horses, dogs, cats and farm animals.
