Moisten it with water  (and molasses if your horse is a particularly fussy eater )
Mix the Joint Rejuvenate powder with the moistened feed
Mix this with the rest of the feed

Dog/Canine
Mix with a spoonful of canned food
Some like it in milk

Cat/Feline
Mix with a spoonful of canned food
Some like it in milk

Can I use it with other arthritis treatments?

Yes.   Joint Rejuvenate works well with use of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs such as phenylbutazone (bute) which are still the mainstay of treating arthritis even although they have some undesirable side-effects if used for a long period of time.  Pentosan polysulfate injections from your vet will give a boost to Joint RejuvenateThere are no known contra-indications with any other supplements and theoretically  Joint Rejuvenate  may well be synergistic with other anti-inflammatory products such as turmeric or rosehip.

Toxicity and Side Effects

Researchers have been unable to establish toxic dose upper levels of green-lipped mussel powder.  Joint Rejuvenate is one of the safest products you can feed to an animal.

What dose rate should I be using?

Dogs and cats:

20 to 60 mg/kg as a treatment dose
EG:
A 20kg dog x 60mg/kg = 1.2 grams
A flat scoop is 1 gram. A heaped scoop is 2 grams.
We suggest a 14-day double dose so 1 heaped scoop per day per introductory rate.

Horses:

2mg/kg prevention rate (no visible arthritic symptoms)
A 500kg (aprrox. 15.2hh) horse x 2mg/kg = 1 gram or 1 flat scoop per day

6-10 mg/kg early-stage joint wear and tear (manifest by stiffness)
A 500kg (aprrox. 15.2hh) horse x 10mg/kg = 5 gram or 5 flat scoops per day

20 mg/kg moderate-stage joint wear and tear (manifest by subtle lameness)
A 500kg (aprrox. 15.2hh) horse x 20mg/kg = 10 gram or 5 heaped scoops per day

How long does Joint Rejuvenate take to start working?

2 to 8 weeks in dogs, cats and horses. The most important thing to appreciate is that you are not going to see quick improvement the next day the way you would do if you took aspirin or paracetamol or if you gave your animal meloxicam or phenylbutazone. We suggest using a double dose for the first 14 days.

For active arthritic symptoms, if you have seen no improvement after 14 days, you have only a 20% chance of seeing improvement even if you persis for the recommended 8 weeks.
