Joint Rejuvenate is a source of the highly absorbable phospholipid-bound form of omega 3 fatty acids. In particular, it is a unique source of the omega 3 fatty acid eicosatetraenoic acid (ETA) which has a highly effective and natural anti-inflammatory activity. ETA is known for its ability to treat active arthritic conditions. Like non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medicines (NSAIDS), it is also a pain reliever, but without the side effects of NSAIDS, so it can be given long term. In contrast, fish oil, although it contains the omega 3 fatty acids docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) and eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA), lacks ETA and consequently is not as efficacious in treating symptomatic joint issues. Joint Rejuvenate also contains small quantities of hyaluronic acid (HA) that assists with joint lubrication. HA also aids in the production of new cells and tissues, thereby supporting cartilage and bone development. HA thus helps to reduce joint inflammation and pain caused by tissue degradation. Joint Rejuvenate is a source of glucosamine and chondroitin sulphate, nutrients that contribute to improved joint function. Joint Rejuvenate also contains copper, zinc, manganese, cobalt and selenium. These minerals are essential for joint health. Selenium and copper and are also powerful anti-oxidants. Joint Rejuvenate has been evaluated at different dose rates, on its own and in conjunction with other products. Particularly impressive was the synergy when Joint Rejuvenate was used in conjunction with injectable pentosan polysulphate (marketed in Australia under the trade names Pentosan, Cartrophen, Zydax and Arthropen). To sum up, Joint Rejuvenate is a source of essential building-block nutrients that help an arthritic joint repair at a microscopic level.
Joint Rejuvenate is a natural joint supplement derived from the freeze-dried meat of the raw green-lipped mussel Perna Canaliculus. These green-lipped mussels are a totally natural, sustainably farmed, shellfish resource.
Green lipped mussels are native to New Zealand’s Marlborough Sound. The currents around the continental shelf in New Zealand are nutrient rich with plankton, providing the ideal environment for the green-lipped mussels (a plankton-filter feeder). Plankton is also a rich source of anti-oxidants which further contributes to mussel growth and quality.
Importantly, the pristine waters of the Marlborough Sound ensure low or non-existent bacterial counts and zero heavy metal content from contaminants such as mercury, thus helping assure the quality of Joint Rejuvenate.
Joint Rejuvenate is created using a freeze-drying process in order to maintain the integrity of the naturally occurring nutrients in the green-lipped mussel. Freeze drying extracts the water found in the mussel, eliminating the need for heat which would render the mussel less effective as a joint treatment. The freeze-drying method also preserves the mussel, so there are no added chemicals, preservatives or fillers found in Joint Rejuvenate.
Where the green lipped mussels are grown, and the process by which the flesh of this shellfish is made into powder to retain its biological activity, are the differentiating features of our brand of green-lipped mussel powder.
